In English this week, we have been looking at ways to generate ideas for our creative writing. In particular, we have been examining what topics are appropriate for a very short (2 page) story. The class has been learning to narrow their focus to small moments of time. This allows us space to build tension and add description. We have collaboratively developed a small moment short story which we will be able to refer back to as our unit continues.
In maths we have continued our focus on graphing skills. We have examined what all graphs have in common, as well as what purposes and differences they have. The students have practiced graphing their science experiment results using scatter graphs, line graphs and histograms. In the process, we have also reviewed the concepts of mean, median and mode.
