We had wonderful conditions for surfing today with perfect weather and just the right swell for learning new skills. The students were so excited to stand up on the waves and a [positive energy flowed through the class. In addition to surfing, we have been learning about surf safety and rescue techniques. We learnt how to spot a rip and what to do when we’re stuck in one. Brett has been our surfing instructor for the last 4 years. Unfortunately he is leaving for an new job in Angourie but, he explained to me, he was happy to come back for one last job as long as it was Main Arm: we must have made an impression!

In maths we have been revising strategies for adding and subtracting with negative numbers. The class has been quick to get the hang of it. As the week continues we will explore the best way to deal with negative decimals.
