Scribbly Gums News

Hi everyone,
It was great to get back to our beautiful classroom after the week in town!
We all truly appreciate our school after being displaced for the week.
However every cloud has a silver lining, as they say and the variation to routine gave us all a chance to put some of those learning dispositions into play. Especially being ubiquitous learners who can learn anyhow, anywhere, anytime!

Our science investigations have been getting more magical and complex. Last week we placed 3 raw chicken eggs into vinegar and food colouring to see whether we could create rubbery dragon eggs. We observed the changes over the week and this week we opened them up. The change was incredible with the reaction of the vinegar dissolving the shell, and the white of the egg changing into a rubber like texture.

Of course we had to do the bounce test and yes it was successful.

We also mixed solids and liquids and some steam gas and created personal play dough balls.

In history we are identifying the changes from the past into the present and comparing old games and new.
