It was great to meet up with parents last week to share the wonderful achievements of the class. They have all come so far during the first half of the year.
We have been learning about the water cycle and discussing why clean, fresh water is so important. They have been studying maps and places in Geography with Ms Laddin. Also learning “What does the clock say?”and having fun with Mrs B. Our fitness and movement skills are developing from our daily fitness. Skipping skills have really improved for the Year 1 students and Year 2 students will be keen to put their long jump and shot-put skills to the test at the Athletics Carnival next term. Our reading and writing have also shown wonderful growth. This week I had students look at a writing sample from the the start of the year and compare it to a recent sample (which I shared with you at interviews). They were so proud of their progress. And I am too!
I hope you all have a lovely holiday. Also I would like to wish Lennox, Oberon, Ed and Charlotte all the best for their big adventure to Peru. We will miss you and look forward to hearing all about it on your return.
Until next term, Gae
