Scibbly Gums Stem

This week in the Scribbly Gums it has been all about STEM. Science Technology Engineering and Maths. The challenge was set to design a unique mini beast. The design had to include head, thorax, abdomen, and antenna. Wings were optional. The students had to decide on habitat and diet and special skill.
Next step was to construct the mini beast using limited materials provided at the STEM shop. This is where the maths came in as the kids had to ‘buy’ their materials with only $6. Final step was to contrast and compare with a partners mini beast and record the information on a Venn diagram. Huge scope of learning on so many levels.
