It’s been wonderful getting to know a new class this year and I have been impressed at how focussed, calm and welcoming they have shown themselves to be.
This week we have been preparing speeches for a class debate on the use of technology. The class has been exploring a new planning strategy to help structure their paragraphs and arguments.
In maths we have been looking at the importance of visual representations and mathematical communication in a series of problem solving challenges. In the process, the students have learnt about multiplicative strategies, multiples, factors, prime numbers and the order of operations. I must say I am impressed by how effectively they have worked as a team to solve problems.
It looks like we’re going to have a great year!
Don’t forget the parent information session next Tuesday at 8:00am.
