Dragonflies News

Hi everyone and welcome to Term 2.
We have lots of exciting learning planned for the Dragonflies this term. We will continue with our literacy groups on Monday to Thursday. So parent helpers are always welcome. I am looking for someone to support the group working on computers to guide them on some simple word processing and publishing this term. We had a surge of growth in reading levels at the end of term 1 so we need to keep up with our home reading and continue to practise, practise, practise! please have a good look around for any home readers as some of our boxes are looking a bit sad at the moment.
We will be looking at geography and places that are special to us. We began with students drawing what they thought Australia looked like and identifying any places in Australia that they know. Which was very interesting. We will do this again at the end of our unit to see how much more we know about the places in our country.
In Maths we are focusing on subtraction and looking at the difference between numbers, and how addition can help with Subtraction.
I was thrilled to be able to share a little bit of Vietnam with the class and they had a lot of fun with their balancing dragonflies.
Cheers, Gae
