Banksia Class News

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Term 4. This term we look at our learning goals and continue with our assessments to determine how far we have come this year. It is interesting for the students to look at their own work samples from early in the year and compare them to their current work samples. It is wonderful to see the success every student is making but it is even better when they can see this for themselves. This is what Visible Learning is all about.

In maths we have been looking at doubles facts and playing games to reinforce these facts until we have instant recall. Using our knowledge of doubles is an important strategy for addition and subtraction.

We have been learning about owls and have discovered some interesting facts in our “read the room” activity. We have also been reading about owls in our guided reading groups and doing some spectacular artworks too.

Our Bee tile mural, which has been a class project, is finally finished and now we have to find somewhere to hang it.

Congratulations to Jade and Michael on the birth of their baby girl and to Aziah who is her wonderful big brother.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at Music In The Valley on Friday afternoon. Lets hope the sun is shining on us,

Cheers Gae
